Curator’s Corner: Military Medals

In honor of Veterans Day, join Collections Coordinator Anna Spencer as she takes a closer look at some military medals in our collection. From a medal awarded in 1883 during the Civil War to a medal awarded in 1942 during World War II, watch to find out which medal was earned by a woman.

Veterans Day is observed in the United States on November 11, regardless of which day of the week it falls. Veterans Day is a day to honor American veterans of all wars and honors all of those who have served the country in war or peace — living or deceased.
