Museum Seeking Submissions to Collection

Wenatchee, Wash. – For over 80 years, our community has trusted the Wenatchee Valley Museum & Cultural Center to collect and share the stories of remarkable people and moments in our history; and the biggest story right now is the impact of the COVID-19 crisis on our lives and our region’s response. This is why the Wenatchee Valley Museum is asking community members to share their stories: Your personal reflections on living through this pandemic. How are you spending your days in this strange new “normal.” What have you learned about yourself, your friends, or your family, that is giving you strength amidst chaos?

The community is asked to share their personal reflections. Learn how to submit your story at: wenatcheevalleymuseum.org/share-your-story/. Essential workers are encouraged to pick up a journal from the Museum to have coworkers and staff write-in and share their experiences working during the pandemic. Please call 509-888-6240 to schedule a time to pick up a journal.

We invite written reflections and photographs that document images of this extraordinary time in our valley. All submitted materials  must include the author’s full name, location (city, town, or reservation), email address, and the date. The Museum will add a selection of the stories and reflections to our collections, where future generations will go to understand what this unprecedented moment in history was really like.

In accordance with the state guidelines our two retail spaces the Gift Shop and 90th Anniversary Women Painters of Washington Art Gallery – are open by appointment five days a week, Tuesday through Saturday, from 10 AM to 4 PM. You can also now shop our gift shop online. If you are looking for unique gifts or stocking stuffers for the holidays the Museum has a great selection of gifts, books, videos, toys, art and more! Our valued members receive 10% off all purchases in our gift shop. Find out about membership and how to join by calling 888-6240. The public can stay updated on when the Museum will be able to reopen by visiting wenatcheevalleymuseum.org, subscribing to the Museum email newsletter, and by following the Museum on social media: on Facebook @wenatcheemuseum and on Instagram @wvmuseum.

Please visit the Museum website wenatcheevalleymuseum.org for the latest information or email [email protected] with specific questions.
