Super Summer Adventures: Session 1

June 17, 2019 @ 2:00 AM - June 20, 2019 @ 8:30 AM

Grades 1 – 2: Story Art

Join us as we connect Art and Literature with fun art projects inspired by children’s books. Enjoy listening to the books like “If I ran the Zoo” by Dr. Seuss and then make a Tizzled Topped Tufted Mazurka! Or use paper and glue to create a unique masterpiece after listening to the story “Too Much Glue” by Jason Lefebvre.

Grades 3 – 7: Board Game Creator

Spend the week creating your own board game complete with pieces, boards, and any other component your game may need.  Once all the students’ games are complete, we can play them!

Grades 3 – 7: Tour of Italy

Get ready for your kids to come home and make you dinner after they take this class on how to make pizza dough from scratch, and fresh delicious sauces for pasta and cannelloni’s.

Grades 1 – 2: Chess 101

We will learn the basic rules of chess, including how the pieces move. We will talk about what a “check-mate” is, and how that differs from “taking the king”. We will learn the ABC’s of getting out of check, basic development strategy, and techniques in getting a checkmate. Students will participate in their own tournament, where they will get a chance to win medals or key chains.

Grades 3 – 5: Making Art with Science!

Are you artistic and love science? Join us for a week of art solely based on principles of science. We will use magnetism, polarity and other scientific ideas to create magnificent works of art.

Grades 5 – 7: Tour of Italy (repeat of AM)

Repeat of morning class. Get ready for your kids to come home and make you dinner after they take this class on how to make pizza dough from scratch, and fresh delicious sauces for pasta and cannelloni’s.
