SUMMARY:CANCELLED: Super Summer Adventure Camps: Session 1
DESCRIPTION:The health and wellness of our campers\, visitors\, members\, staff\, and community are our top priority. Due to COVID-19\, we have made the difficult decision to cancel summer camps scheduled to be held in the month of June. Refunds are being provided for anyone who registered for a June summer camp.   \n\n\nWe will continue to open registration for July and August summer camps to students entering the 2nd – 6th grades in the Fall of 2020. While we currently plan to hold camps during July and August\, we will be following the guidelines for events and public health from local\, state\, and federal officials\, including social distancing\, sanitization\, and capacity. We are continually evaluating upcoming events scheduled for July and August in light of those guidelines. Our team will give advance notice of any future cancellations. \n\n\nWe share in your disappointment in the cancellation of June’s camps\, but we are hopeful that we’ll be able to welcome your campers back to the Museum in July and August for those students entering the 2nd – 6th grade. Sample delicious food while you take a journey through a delicious\, literary adventure. \nGrades K-1: Dough Creations\nLet’s roll out the dough for this class! Learn how to make various types of dough including playdough and cookie dough.  We will let our imaginations soar and see how creative we can be with our dough creations. \nGrades 2-3: Cakes & More\nCreate delicious treats in this class where baking is just as much fun as the eating! Learn how to make cookies from a boxed cake mix\, decorate your own cupcake and learn some basic cooking skills! \nGrades 4-6: Secret Life of Breads\nEnjoy a science experiment and a feast all rolled into one in the exciting culinary exploration of the science of bread making. Explore quick breads\, cultural breads\, yeast breads and yummy dips! \nAfternoon (12:30 – 3:30 PM)\nGrades K-1: Gross Grub\nCreate fun (and delicious) food including cow chips\, dirty bath water\, worms in mud\, dirt clods\, snake guts\, and terrible tacos. Come join us for a yucky good time. \nGrades 2-3: Candyology\nWhat is your favorite kind of candy? Have you ever thought about the science behind what makes candy so sweet? We will take on the challenge of making some of your favorites and then tasting them to see if we were successful! \nGrades 4-6: Edible Creations\nIs the perfect snack crunchy\, salty\, gooey\, or colorful? Use your senses to explore the colors\, smells\, and tastes of food.
