SUMMARY:Super Summer Adventure Camps: Session 4
DESCRIPTION:Updated guidance from the Washington State Department of Health allows for the reopening of child and youth programming\, allowing our summer camp program to run\, following health guidelines including social distancing\, masks\, sanitization\, and limiting capacity. The health and wellness of our campers\, visitors\, members\, staff\, and community are our top priority. We are excited to offer summer camp for students entering the 2nd – 6th grades in the Fall of 2020. We offer weekly enrichment classes for kids with a wide variety of morning\, afternoon\, and all day classes for students entering K-6 grades in the Fall of 2020 and PreK children ages 3-5 (must be potty trained). \nREGISTERING FOR MORE THAN ONE SESSION? CLICK HERE TO VIEW REGISTRATION OPTIONS FOR THE WHOLE SUMMER!\nMorning (9 AM – 12 PM)\nGrades 2-3: Rockin’ Robotics\nDiscover what makes a robot and how engineers use them to explore remote habitats\, solve difficult problems\, and save lives. Then\, put your own skills to work using LEGO® software and robotic parts to program a machine to overcome twisty obstacles and crafty challenges! \nGrades 4-6: Invention Convention\nAttend an invention convention in this camp!  Campers will work together to use their imagination\, creativity\, ingenuity and teamwork to engineer solutions to problems\, create sculptures\, or build functioning machines. What will you invent? \nAfternoon (12:30 – 3:30 PM)\nGrades 2-3: Franklin & Da Vinci\nWhat kinds of “machines” were built before robots were invented? Join us for a week of wind up creations\, automatons\, dancing bots\, and hydraulic arms. We’ll explore the best (and worst!) of some famous inventions including those of Benjamin Franklin\, Leonardo Da Vinci\, and many more! \nGrades 4-6: Summer Mindstorms\nJoin the coach from the Museum’s award-winning team\, the Holographic Cats\, as she gets you started with the basics of LEGO Mindstorm robot programming. You will get an introduction to competition skills including core values and task completion.
