SUMMARY:No Haunt\, No Problem - A Haunted Film
DESCRIPTION:A museum in quarantine. Closed. Unable to have guests for their annual Haunted Museum. Unable to bring in actors and monsters to creep and scare the hundreds of community members young and old who show up every year to get the pants scared off them. Unable to bring the revenue the Haunt fundraiser normally provides. Watch what happens when the staff gathers at the museum to think of a plan. \nThe Museum isn’t haunted this year… or is it? \nRegister for the virtual haunt and we will send you a link to our spin on this annual tradition. This event is by donation. A link will be sent to you when you register\, beginning October 14. \nYou will be able to register for this event until 10/31/2020. \nBy enjoying this semi-scary film featuring local actors\, you will be providing much-needed support to your local museum. \nRegister here:  61981.blackbaudhosting.com/61981/Virtual-Haunt

SUMMARY:Salmon Bake - A Virtual Celebration
DESCRIPTION:Join us virtually as Wenatchi/P’squosa elder Randy Lewis presents a traditional blessing of water and salmon. One of the Plateau tribes’ most significant ceremonies is the First Salmon Feast\, marking the arrival of salmon to traditional fishing grounds. Lewis\, the great-great-grandson of Sam Miller\, founder of the Miller-Freer Trading Post\, the anchor to the original City of Wenatchee\, will retell origin stories related to the Creator’s calling of a grand council of the plants and animals to help feed and care for the newest of creations: humans. \nWenatchee Valley Museum members are invited to participate in a feast of salmon\, part of the traditional tribal religion in the Columbia Basin that reinforces the central role salmon and water play for Columbia Basin tribal people in your own home.  With a series of videos\, we will lead you through building a traditional fire pit as well as preparing and cooking the salmon.  Randy will then present the traditional blessing live and you are invited to participate via Zoom. \nYou decide on how much or how little you would like to participate\, whether you go all out and build the fire pit or just cook the fish in your oven\, you won’t want to miss Randy’s retelling of the origin story or the moving and sacred blessing of water and salmon. The live blessing will take place at 3:00 pm on Saturday\, October 17th. \nThe videos and Zoom link will be sent in separate emails. \nPlease register here: 61981.blackbaudhosting.com/61981/Salmon-Bake-Virtual and the videos will be sent to you.  The live ceremony will be held on October 17 at 3:00 pm.  A Zoom link will be sent in a separate email.

SUMMARY:The Legend of Propman
DESCRIPTION:What do you know about The Legend of Propman? Not much – well get prepared! \nThis Halloween we have gathered several community leaders to retell the local legend of the B-24 that crashed near Mission Ridge. Propman is the lone survivor\, the tail gunner that roams Bomber Bowl with an airplane prop lodged in his body. \nRegister to hear Rufus Woods\, Frank Kuntz\, Linda Haglund\, Jerrilea Crawford\, Shiloh Burgess\, and Josh Jorgenson put their own spin on Wenatchee folklore. Don’t listen alone. \nThis is a by-donation event. We will begin sending links on October 18th to listen to the spooky story whenever you dare.  You can register through October 31st. \nRegister here \nThe graphic is a Ron Evans illustration.
