DESCRIPTION:Get into the spirit of spring by creating your own “stained glass” lantern with this kid-friendly MakerSpace to-go kit! Create one colorful\, illuminating lantern by following along with our instructional video. This project is the perfect family activity and a great way to play around with color! \nCost is $10 members\, $15 non-members. Kits include materials to make one “stained-glass” lantern\, including craft sticks\, crayons\, and a battery tea light. \nREGISTER HERE \nA hot glue gun and iron are recommended for this project. Museum visitors view artwork from students in Chelan\, Douglas\, Grant and Okanogan Counties\, with winners recognized in 7 categories\, as well as the popular “People’s Choice” awards.

With this MakerSpace to-go kit\, you will learn how to use wax as a resist as you dye fabric to create a beautiful batik design. Batik is an Indonesian technique of wax-resist dyeing applied to the whole cloth. This is a fun technique to learn based on the Indonesian tradition. \nCost is $30 members\, $40 non-members.
