SUMMARY:2024 Write on the River Writers Competition
DESCRIPTION:15th ANNUAL WRITERS COMPETITION \nDo you have a memoir brewing? Got good pages filed away? Feeling inspired to finish that story? Winter is a fine time to hone your writing or create something brand new\, and the 2024 Writers Competition is a great way to reach discerning readers. Write On The River\, in partnership with the Wenatchee Valley Museum and Cultural Center\, is hosting the Writers Competition with cash prizes totaling to $1200 for writers of fiction or nonfiction. Submissions are 1000-word maximum\, either a complete work or beginning pages. Anyone residing in Eastern Washington is eligible to submit entries now through March 1st. \nGuidelines and criteria are now available at writeontheriver.org. \nPlease note: Registration costs $20. Applicants also have the option to receive critiques in their work for an additional $20. Registration can be found here.

SUMMARY:Yoga Basics with Dianne
DESCRIPTION:Mondays and Wednesdays at 10 AM at the Historic Wells House. \nWells House 801 Nelson Ave (located on the Wenatchee Valley College Campus) \nYou may choose to take the class one or two days per week. \nPrices for February: \n\nOne day series\, either Monday or Wednesday\, is $50 for members and $60 for non-members.\nClass on both Monday and Wednesday is $90 for members and $110 for non-members.\nClass for a single drop-in day is $15.\n\nImprove your flexibility\, balance\, strength\, and relaxation using basic yoga postures and breathing techniques while enjoying the charm of the Wells House. \nDianne McCammon will lead this small\, adults-only yoga series. Yoga Basics is slower-paced and focuses on developing a clear and safe alignment of fundamental postures. This series of classes is designed for beginners\, those recovering from injury or anyone wanting to refine their current practice. Come learn\, play\, and maybe even break a sweat in a supportive environment. All bodies are welcome. \nDianne is certified at the 500-hour level with Yoga Alliance and is a Registered Yoga Therapist with International Association of Yoga Therapists. \nPlease bring your mat and water.
