DESCRIPTION:Calling all tech enthusiasts\, aspiring engineers\, and design fans! \nGet ready to dive into the captivating world of 3D printing with our beginner-friendly adult classes at the Wenatchee Valley Museum and Cultural Center! \nDown in our MakerSpace studio\, learn how to design parts\, prepare them for printing\, and operate the printer itself\, led by a seasoned mechanical engineer with over 40 years of manufacturing experience. \nFrom Instructor Mark VanHorne: \n“With the knowledge and skills you will obtain in the class\, you can print parts to repair everyday items\, personalize objects with your name or logo\, create customized parts for unique applications\, build proof of concept prototypes for your inventions\, make personal organizers for your home\, and print tools to simplify difficult jobs. \nEach class will build on the previous class\, so it is essential that each student attend every class. Each student must supply their own laptop computer and setup a Fusion 360 or OnShape account and install PrusaSlicer.” \nGraduates will be eligible to support Waste Loop’s Eastside Rebuild\, participating in manufacturing projects at their Repair Cafes. Learn more about what Eastside Rebuild has to offer here. \nCLASS SCHEDULE: \nOctober 11 – November 15 \nEvery Saturday\, 10 AM – 2 PM \nThis class series costs $125 for members and $175 for non-members \nRegistration is required due to limited spots. \nPlease only register if you will miss no more than one Saturday. \n\nThis class series is supported through grant funding by Microsoft.

DESCRIPTION:Enjoy Delicious Apple Pies at Watercore Cider in Downtown Wenatchee! \nJoin us for a community gathering that cherishes our valley’s historic love for apple pie! On Saturday\, Nov. 15\, bakers will compete for the title of Best Apple Pie\, and you can be the judge.  \nEvent Schedule: \n\n Pie Drop-Off: 10 AM – 12 PM\n Pie Sampling & Activities: 1-5 PM\nApple Industry Exhibit Tours: 1-4 PM\n Winners Announced & Live Music: 6-8 PM\n\nTickets are $5 per person. Guests can pre-register or buy tickets at the door at Watercore Cider. Each ticket includes five pie tastings\, two votes for your favorite pies\, and a free guided tour of the Wenatchee Valley Museum and Cultural Center’s Apple Industry Exhibit between 1-4 PM.  \nTASTING SESSION (CHOOSE YOUR PREFERRED TIMESLOT) \n1-2 PM\n2-3 PM\n3-4 PM\n4-5 PM\nPie Baking Contestants: Entries cost $10 and will be asked to submit 2 pies. DESCRIPTION:Study all the Nooks and Crannies of the Historic Wells House! \nHave you ever seen the basement of the Wells House? How about the 3rd floor servant’s quarters? Come unlock the secrets of this 116-year-old mansion! The Wells House was the previous home of W.T. Clark\, A.Z. Wells\, and was the first ever college building built on the Wenatchee Valley College campus. \nOn Saturday\, Nov. 15\, guests will see the maid’s quarters\, the attic room where the college newspaper was written\, and the former billiard room where the first Wenatchee Valley College (WVC) students socialized. Volunteer docents will provide architectural insight and stories of the homes’ residents on this guided tour. \nAdmission is $10 for members and $15 for non-members. Proceeds from this tour support the ongoing maintenance and upkeep of this treasured home. Registration is required.
