SUMMARY:Navigating Untold Stories: A Historical Fiction Workshop
DESCRIPTION:How did W.T. “Bill” Clark feel when he returned to Wenatchee dirt poor in the spring of 1933\, nearly thirty years after irrigating our Valley? What did the tense conversations sound like\, as the passenger train moved in and out of a smoke-filled Wellington tunnel\, some deciding to hike out in waist-deep snow before the deadly 1910 avalanche fell? What did David Thompson think to himself as he navigated the pre-dammed Columbia\, floating for the first time into what is now present-day Wenatchee?  \nExplore local stories from our shared past at the Wenatchee Valley Museum & Cultural Center\, with local English instructor\, Zach Eddy\, and learn new techniques to help guide you to a place of discovery\, while you navigate the blurry line between fiction and non-fiction. Discover what stories hide in the gaps of the historical record. What dark truths remain uncovered? Explore who gets to tell the stories and why they matter today.  \nIf you attended this class before\, this will be a whole new adventure. Don’t hesitate to register anew!  \nZach Eddy received his MFA in Poetry at the University of Idaho. His writing has appeared in High Desert Journal\, Northwest Review\, The Confluence Magazine\, and elsewhere. He teaches English composition and creative writing at Wenatchee Valley College\, and he is the operations coordinator for the Wenatchee Valley Museum & Cultural Center.   \nThis workshop is $10 for museum members and students. It is $20 for non-members. \nCLICK HERE TO REGISTER FOR THIS WORKSHOP \n
