DESCRIPTION:Enjoy a rare opportunity to explore private historic properties and learn more about the value of historic preservation. \nPresented in partnership with the City of Wenatchee Historic Preservation Board\, this self-guided tour through Wenatchee’s historic landmarks highlights homes and properties listed on the Wenatchee Register of Historic Places and homes of historical significance. \nVolunteer docents will be on hand to share their historical research with tour visitors. This tour is an opportunity for the public to become more familiar with the value of historic preservation and to foster an appreciation for the aesthetic character and heritage of the Wenatchee Valley. \nProperties featured include: \n3 N. Engage in enriching discussions\, immerse yourself in ancestral stories\, and gain a profound understanding of the Wanapum people’s enduring relationship with the land. \nFrom there\, we’ll travel to the Ginkgo Petrified Forest and the Ginkgo Interpretive Center to explore one of the most unique fossil forests in the world. Randy will unveil the geological marvels and cultural significance of this extraordinary site. For those who would like—and feel up to it—there will be an optional 30-minute hike on the petrified forest trail\, located a short distance from the Interpretive Center\, where you can walk among the ancient petrified trees. DESCRIPTION:Improve your flexibility\, balance\, strength\, and relaxation skills while learning basic postures and breathing techniques at the historic Wells House. \nDianne McCammon leads this Yoga Basics series\, intended for an adult audience. Dianne is certified at the 500-hour level with Yoga Alliance and is a Registered Yoga Therapist with the International Association of Yoga Therapists. With its slower pace\, Yoga Basics is great for beginners\, those recovering from injury\, or anyone wanting to refine and refresh their current practice. Come learn\, play\, and maybe even break a sweat in a supportive environment. All bodies are welcome.\n\nPlease bring your own mat and water. Space is limited; pre-registration is encouraged.\nClasses are on April 1\, 6\, 8\, 13\, 15\, 20\, 22\, 27\, and 29. Mondays and Wednesdays\, starting at 10 AM. Registration is priced for each monthly series. \n\n\nApril 1-30\n\nMondays is $50 for members and $60 for non-members.\nWednesdays is $65 for members and $75 for non-members.\nClasses on both Mondays and Wednesdays is $110 for members and $125 for non-members.\nClass for a single drop-in day is $15.\n\n(4 Mondays & 5 Wednesdays)\n\n\nREGISTER HERE \nDisclaimer\nThis class series is located on the Wenatchee Valley College Campus at 625 Nelson Avenue. DESCRIPTION:Local Screening of “Best Day Ever” Highlights Adaptive Riders and the Power of Outdoor Access for All \nWHAT:   Belonging in the Outdoors: TREAD\, NCW Equity Alliance\, Visit Chelan County\, Evergreen Mountain Bike Alliance\, Chelan-Douglas Land Trust\, Wenatchee Valley YMCA\, Thriving Together NCW and Wenatchee Valley Museum are hosting a free showing of the film “Best Day Ever”. This documentary follows adaptive mountain bikers as they tackle daily challenges of disability and finding joy\, connection\, and belonging.  \nWHO:     TREAD\, NCW Equity Alliance\, Visit Chelan County\, Evergreen Mountain Bike Alliance\, CDLT\,  Wenatchee Valley YMCA\, Thriving Together NCW and Wenatchee Valley Museum.  \nWHY:    To celebrate adaptive mountain biking and shared outdoor experiences\, and to build awareness\, connection\, and respect across our region’s outdoor community. “Best Day Ever” offers a real look at how people experience trails differently\, and why thoughtful\, collaborative planning/design matters.  \nWHEN: Thursday\, April 23rd from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm.
