DESCRIPTION:Join us in our MakerSpace for a Get Lit! Pet Collar Series. Learn how to use conductive thread to make a light-up pet collar and make a tag with our 3D printer. \nWednesday\, March 4: We are creating the pet collar. The collar will be constructed with nylon webbing\, plastic release buckles\, and conductive thread. You will need to bring your pet’s neck measurement to class with you. \nWednesday\, March 11: We are finishing the collar if needed and designing the tag. Everyone needs to set-up a free account on tinkercad.com and bring a laptop to class with you. We will help with understanding Tinkercad and troubleshooting the designs of the tags before printing. \nWednesday\, March 18: We are wrapping up the tags or picking them up if they were not finished printing the previous week. \nAdmission to the series is $40 for members and $45 for non-members. DESCRIPTION:Join us for the opening of the 41st Annual Regional High School Art Show. Museum visitors can see artwork from students in Chelan\, Douglas\, Grant and Okanogan Counties. Admission is free all day starting at 10:00 AM at the Wenatchee Valley Museum & Cultural Center on the first Friday of every month\, and hours are extended to 8:00 PM with light refreshments and snacks offered after 5:00 PM. \nGUEST HEALTH & SAFETY: Nothing is more important than public safety and the well-being of our community. The museum is preparing for COVID-19 in our community by working closely with local public health officials and aligning with local\, state and federal public health guidelines. In order to promote everyday preventive actions\, we have added hand sanitizer stations throughout the museum\, we are reinforcing good hygiene and sanitization policies with staff\, volunteers and visitors\, and we are working with our janitorial service to ensure they continue to provide high level cleaning of our facility\, including proactive sanitization of surfaces of the museum that the staff and public come in contact with. In the end\, the health and safety of the community was paramount in our decision. We hope you understand that the museum staff and board believes this is the right decision for the safety of our community. \nIf you have questions about how COVID-19 may affect upcoming programs at the Museum\, please call us at (509) 888-6240 or email us at info@wvmcc.org. \n\nBrent Cunderla will lead a tour of the Grand Coulee Ice Age Floods tour loop which begins in Soap Lake and continues north to Lake Lenore Caves\, Dry Falls Interpretive Center\, Sims Corner\, Electric City\, Banks Lake\, Northrup Canyon\, Coulee City\, Summer Falls\, and Ephrata. \nAn overview of the catastrophic Ice Age Floods and Soap Lake’s unique waters will be given. Two stops in the lower Grand Coulee will include Lenore Caves and Dry Falls. A brief stop will be made to overview Dry Falls and the mouth of the upper Grand Coulee before driving up onto the Waterville Plateau. Crown Point will be the last stop before lunch. The afternoon tour stops near Northrup Canyon and travel south through Coulee City to Summer Falls. The last stop will be at “Monster Rock”. \nTour goers meet at the Wenatchee Valley Museum to board a tour bus that departs at 8 a.m. Please bring your lunch unless otherwise notified.  \nTickets are $50 for Museum members and $55 for non-members.

This tour will discuss the science and Native American oral history of the rock formations created by the Ice Age Floods. \nTour goers will meet at the Wenatchee Valley Museum to board a tour bus that will depart at 9 a.m. An overview of the Ice Age Floods will be given before departure. The first stop will be at Chief Moses Council Cave. The tour will continue on to Three Devils\, then heads toward Waterville with a stop at Haystack Rocks. As a ticket holder to a canceled event\, there is a simple and powerful way you can help your Museum continue bringing great programs and events to our community through this crisis and beyond: by donating the value of your tickets.\n\nNow\, more than ever\, we need your support to sustain your Museum through this unprecedented time. We are working to find a new date for this event\, and will communicate this date as soon as possible. \n\nThe decision to postpone was not made lightly. In the end\, the health and safety of the community was paramount in our decision. We hope you understand that the museum staff and board believes this is the right decision for the safety of our community. \nIf you have questions about how COVID-19 may affect upcoming programs at the Museum\, please call us at (509) 888-6240 or email us at info@wvmcc.org. \n\nIce Age Floods using the Grand Coulee and the Upper Crab Creek drainages\, filled the Quincy Basin at a rate up to 16.5 million cubic meters of water per second. This tour\, led by Ken Lacy\, explores the incredible erosive consequences of the floodwaters escaping the Quincy Basin\, via Lynch\, Potholes and Frenchman Springs Coulees. The tour will also examine the eight mile wide Drumheller Channels\, through which most of the Quincy Basin floodwaters drained largely down the Lower Crab Creek drainage\, toward the Columbia River at Beverly\, Washington. \nTour goers will meet at the Wenatchee Valley Museum to board a tour bus that will depart at 9 a.m. \nTickets are $50 for Museum members and $55 for non-members.
