DESCRIPTION:Join us in our MakerSpace with Soon Choi for a wonderful two parts session on Stained glass basics. Choose from a variety of templates provided such as a window hanging\, necklace\, pendant or a flower. This class is open to ages 16+ and will run for two consecutive Mondays in June\, 20 and 27 from 6 to 9 PM. \nSoon Choi has worked in the Wenatchee Community to keep the art of stained glass alive.\nShe has passion around teaching people the basics of soldering glass\, cutting\, foiling and\ndesigning to create original artworks out of glass. \nCost: $75 non-members $65 members \nREGISTER HERE

The Museum offers free admission during extended hours from 4 PM to 8 PM on the First Friday of the Month. \nWe are happy to host an installation of the Washington State Superintendent’s High School Art Show winners for 2022. Since 1973\, the Superintendent’s High School Art Show has honored excellence in the visual arts. Students from all nine of the state’s educational service districts (ESDs) participate in this artistic celebration each year. The finalists from these regional ESD shows are invited to participate in the Superintendent’s High School Art Show. \nOne of the award winners is Anessa Hanson from Wenatchee High School. Her painting is titled “Sunflower Meadow.” Her teacher is Reed Carlson. \nCome to the Museum to see Anessa’s painting along with all the other award winners from across the State of Washington.

DESCRIPTION:Yoga Basics On the Wells House Lawn with Dianne \nWednesdays in July – July 6\, 13\, 20\, and 27 at 10 am. \nWells House 801 Nelson Ave (located on the Wenatchee Valley College Campus) \nImprove your flexibility\, balance\, strength\, and relaxation using basic yoga postures and breathing techniques while enjoying the charm of the Wells House.  We will be outside on the lawn of this historic house. \nDianne McCammon will lead this small\, adults-only yoga series. Yoga Basics is slower-paced and focuses on developing a clear and safe alignment of fundamental postures. This series of classes is designed for beginners\, those recovering from injury or anyone wanting to refine their current practice. Come learn\, play\, and maybe even break a sweat in a supportive environment. All bodies are welcome. \nSign up for all 4 sessions or decide to come that morning\, you have the option.  Walk-ins are welcome.  If you preregister for all 4 sessions\, the cost is $40/members and $50/non-members.  If you don’t want to commit to all 4 and would rather decide weekly\, the cost is $15/session.  Please bring exact change or a card and we will register you before class.  You can also sign up online. \nDianne is certified at the 500-hour level with Yoga Alliance and is a Registered Yoga Therapist with International Association of Yoga Therapists. \nPlease bring your mat and water. Space is limited. We will be following health and safety guidelines issued by the Chelan Douglas Health District and the State of Washington\, including facemasks if mandated. \nRegister here.

Join us for a week of wind up creations\, automatons\, dancing bots\, and hydraulic arms. In Beautiful Wounds writer and photographer Timothy Connor shares stunning images\, engaging field notes\, historical narrative\, and a touching\, personal sojourn. A national award-winning journalist with a passion for nature photography\, his writing unfolds the story as the camera illuminates the path. The photography captures the sweeping horizons\, braided wetlands\, and a surprisingly vibrant wilderness. HIs book is on sale at the museum gift shop. Registration is free for museum members and $15 for non-members.\n\n\nThe museum’s second floor rotating gallery currently features an exhibit presenting Connor’s new book\, Beautiful Wounds: A Search for Solace and Light in Washington’s Channeled Scablands. It displays a selection of photography which are featured in the book. Timothy’s journey follows the footsteps of J. Harlan Bretz who theorized correctly about the Missoula Floods over 100 years ago. The exhibit runs through August 6\, 2022. Photography featured in the exhibit is for sale.\n\nREGISTER HERE

DESCRIPTION:Yoga Basics On the Wells House Lawn with Dianne \nWednesdays in August at 10 am. \nWells House 801 Nelson Ave (located on the Wenatchee Valley College Campus) \nImprove your flexibility\, balance\, strength\, and relaxation using basic yoga postures and breathing techniques while enjoying the charm of the Wells House.  We will be outside on the lawn of this historic house. \nDianne McCammon will lead this small\, adults-only yoga series. Yoga Basics is slower-paced and focuses on developing a clear and safe alignment of fundamental postures. This series of classes is designed for beginners\, those recovering from injury or anyone wanting to refine their current practice. Come learn\, play\, and maybe even break a sweat in a supportive environment. All bodies are welcome. \nSign up for all 5 sessions or decide to come that morning\, you have the option.  Walk-ins are welcome.  If you preregister for all 5 sessions\, the cost is $50/members and $60/non-members.  If you don’t want to commit to all 5 and would rather decide weekly\, the cost is $15/session.  Please bring exact change or a card and we will register you before class.  You can also sign up online. \nDianne is certified at the 500-hour level with Yoga Alliance and is a Registered Yoga Therapist with International Association of Yoga Therapists. \nPlease bring your mat and water. Since 1973\, the Superintendent’s High School Art Show has honored excellence in the visual arts. Students from all nine of the state’s educational service districts (ESDs) participate in this artistic celebration each year. The finalists from these regional ESD shows are invited to participate in the Superintendent’s High School Art Show. \nOne of the award winners is Anessa Hanson from Wenatchee High School. Her painting is titled “Sunflower Meadow.” Her teacher is Reed Carlson. \nCome to the Museum to see Anessa’s painting along with all the other award winners from across the State of Washington.

DESCRIPTION:The Plateau Through Native American Eyes \nSeptember 10\, 2022 – Take a tour of Dry Falls like no other.  Randy Lewis will discuss the cultural significance of this area. \nSeptember 24\, 2022 –  Randy Lewis will lead a tour of the Frenchman’s Coulee and Vantage area.  These locations are rich with Native American history. \nOctober 15\, 2022 –   Explore culturally significant locations starting with the Peshastin Pinnacles and heading up the Icicle with Native American guide Randy Lewis. \nTour-goers will meet at the Wenatchee Valley Museum to board a tour bus that departs at 9 AM and will return by 3 PM. Please bring a lunch\, plenty of water\, and wear good walking shoes. \nRandy Lewis grew up with a strong understanding and sense of place within Native American Columbia Plateau indigenous society. Lewis traces his roots to the Wenatchi band.
