DESCRIPTION:Dance to the rhythms of Croatian folk music in this new dance class series! \nEnter the world of Croatian folk music and dancing alongside Master Croatian folk artist Nicholas Petrish. Recipient of the Governor’s Award\, Petrish has dedicated over half a century to preserving the dance called Lindjo aka Poskocica\, and is the principle dancer\, musician\, singer and choreographer with the Vela Luka Croatian Dance Ensemble. \nOn Tuesdays\, July 1 & 8\, join Petrish as you dive deeper into traditional Croatian dancing\, with musical accompaniment from Petrish’s handmade “Lijerica”\, a three-stringed bowed instrument. All ages welcome! Sneakers are not recommended. Guests are encouraged to bring a comfortable pair of loafers\, dance shoes\, or pumps. Each class is $12 for members\, and $15 for non-members. Explore Wenatchee’s rich heritage as you sip and sample the distinct flavors and aromas of this region. Guests will visit local wineries such as Watermill Winery\, Norwood\, Horan Estates\, and Watercore Cider\, which will feature delicious snacks. \nJoin us on this immersive journey through downtown Wenatchee’s history\, architecture\, and wine scene in one unforgettable tour! \nTickets are $75 for members and $95 for non-members. Whether you are traveling from Seattle or Wenatchee\, this caravan-style tour will give you the opportunity to commute to each stop on the tour in the comfort of your own vehicle.  \nThe caravan will make special stops at the Kittitas County Historical Museum and Olmstead Place State Park\, where you will enjoy expert-led lectures and discussions that connect the land’s geologic wonders with its cultural history.  \nCost per car is $80 for members and $120 for non-members. DESCRIPTION:On March 1\, 1910\, the deadliest avalanche in North American history swept down the snowy Cascades\, burying two trains and killing 96 people. \nThe Wenatchee Valley Museum & Cultural Center invites you to the Wellington Train Disaster Lecture & Caravan Tour on May 30-31. \nOn Saturday\, May 31\, at 9 AM\, join us for a guided caravan tour of the Wellington Site\, where patrons will personally commute to each stop on the tour. At each stop\, our expert guide will uncover the storied legacy of the Great Northern Railway Company\, visiting several historic sites between Leavenworth and Stevens Pass. \nParticipants will receive a detailed itinerary by email\, complete with a map and Google Maps pins for easy navigation. Cost per car is $75 for members and $95 for non-members. Registration is required. \nJOIN THE WAITLIST \nTour-goers will arrive at the Nason Creek – US 2 Rest area at 9 AM for the first stop. The caravan will head west on U.S. Highway 2\, stopping for discussion at different points of interest. The final stop is the interpretive site at Wellington\, where participants will have lunch and take a half-mile walk around the area of the disaster. From there tour goers part ways and head home. DESCRIPTION:Enjoy timeless classics in this brand new film series! \nThe Wenatchee Valley Museum & Cultural Center invites you for a screening of the silent film Faust\, featuring a lecture from Wenatchee Valley College Professor Hart Johnson and live music on the Wurlitzer pipe organ by Thomas Kozina on Friday\, May 23\, 6-8 PM. \nReleased in 1926\, this silent fantasy film follows the story of Faust\, an alchemist who makes a pact with the demon\, Mephisto\, sending him on a journey filled with many perils\, temptations\, and love along the way. \nThis event is the final installment of a 3-part series focused on the work of German Expressionist filmmaker F. W. Murnau\, who pioneered the early silent film era in Germany. Faust was the last film he directed in Germany before moving to the United States. \nHart Johnson is a Humanities Professor at Wenatchee Valley College. He teaches film studies\, mythology\, and other humanities courses. Professor Johnson has a passion for film and is excited to be working with the Museum on this unique film exhibition series. \nStarting at 6 PM\, this program will begin with a 15-20 minute lecture by Professor Hart\, followed by Kozina’s live musical accompaniment to the screening. Afterwards\, there will be a short Q&A session where guests can ask questions to both Hart and Kozina. \nAdmission is $5 for members AND students\, and $7 for non-members. Pre-registration is recommended. Beverages for sale\, including beer and wine for those 21+. Come learn\, play\, and maybe even break a sweat in a supportive environment. All bodies are welcome. \nDianne is certified at the 500-hour level with Yoga Alliance and is a Registered Yoga Therapist with International Association of Yoga Therapists. \nPlease bring your mat and water.
