DESCRIPTION:Start your Easter weekend with an Egg Hunt at the Wells House! \nHop\, hop\, hop over to the Historic Wells House\, located on the Wenatchee Valley College campus\, for our annual Easter Egg Hunt on the Lawn on Saturday\, April 19. The Egg Hunt will start promptly at 11 AM\, we recommend families arrive 10 minutes early to prepare for the Egg Hunt. Please bring your own basket.  \nThe Easter Bunny will be available to meet the children and pose for photos in front of the Wells House. Registration is required and costs $5 per child. \nThe Wells House is located on the Wenatchee Valley College Campus at 625 Nelson Avenue. Families can park behind the home by driving down Nelson Avenue from 9th Street. \n\n  \n¡Comienza tu fin de semana de Pascua con una búsqueda de huevos en la Casa Wells! \n¡Salta\, salta\, salta hasta la histórica Casa Wells\, ubicada en el campus del Colegio del Valle de Wenatchee\, para nuestra búsqueda anual de huevos de Pascua en el pasto el sábado 19 de abril! Explore Wenatchee’s rich heritage as you sip and sample the distinct flavors and aromas of this region. Guests will visit local wineries such as Watermill Winery\, Norwood\, Horan Estates\, and Watercore Cider\, which will feature delicious snacks. \nJoin us on this immersive journey through downtown Wenatchee’s history\, architecture\, and wine scene in one unforgettable tour! \nTickets are $75 for members and $95 for non-members. Pre-registration is required due to limited spots. \n  \nREGISTER HERE \n  \nFrequently Asked Questions:\nWhat should I bring?\nBag for bottles\, journal\, good walking shoes. \nIs this all inclusive?\nAlmost\, the wine\, food\, and lecture are all included in the registration fee. DESCRIPTION:The 2024-25 Film and Speaker Series presents: Eating for Tomorrow – Restoring the Environment and Feeding the World \nThe Wenatchee Valley Museum and Cultural Center is partnering with the Wenatchee Confluence Rotary Club for an upbeat and informative presentation on plant-based eating and how it ties into our current environmental and climate crises. \nOn Thursday\, April 10\, from 6-8 PM\, world-renowned climate scientist and Executive Director of the World Preservation Foundation\, Gerard Bisshop\, will share a global overview of the impact that deforestation and agriculture are having on our natural ecosystems in everyday language we can all understand. He outlines viable solutions to the environmental crises we face with humor and optimism. Bisshop is a former senior environmental scientist with the Australian government\, co-authored the book that inspired the documentary\, “Eating Our Way to Extinction\,” and served as the film’s scientific advisor.  \nSeveral local organizations will be on hand with educational resources and examples of ready-to-go projects to help us “think globally and act locally:” Wenatchee Valley Rotary Clubs\, Sustainable NCW\, Xerces Society\, Cascadia Conservation District\, Winton Compost Works\, and Citizens Climate Lobby. Valley Cakes & Bakes will also offer delicious planet-friendly desserts and tips for how to make them at home. \nAdmission is free for members and $5 for non-members. Yoga Basics is slower-paced and focuses on developing a clear and safe alignment of fundamental postures. This series of classes is designed for beginners\, those recovering from injury or anyone wanting to refine their current practice. Come learn\, play\, and maybe even break a sweat in a supportive environment. All bodies are welcome. \nDianne is certified at the 500-hour level with Yoga Alliance and is a Registered Yoga Therapist with International Association of Yoga Therapists. \nPlease bring your mat and water. DESCRIPTION:Enjoy timeless classics in this brand new film series! \nThe Wenatchee Valley Museum & Cultural Center invites you for a screening of the silent film classic Nosferatu\, featuring a lecture from Wenatchee Valley College Professor Hart Johnson and live music on the pipe organ by Thomas Kozina on Friday\, March 28\, 6-8 PM. \nReleased in 1922\, see the silent film that inspired Robert Eggers’ gothic remake. Directed by F. W. Murnau\, watch as vampire Count Orlock preys on the wife of his estate agent\, bringing the plague to their German town. This film was inspired by the classic tale of Dracula\, revamping the vampire myth for a German audience. Learn more about this film here. \nThis event is the first of a 3-part series focused on the work of German Expressionist filmmaker F. W. Murnau\, who pioneered the early silent film era in Germany. Learn more about our screenings of The Last Laugh and Faust by clicking on the title name. \nHart Johnson is a Humanities Professor at Wenatchee Valley College. He teaches film studies\, mythology\, and other humanities courses. Professor Johnson has a passion for film and is excited to be working with the Museum on this unique film exhibition series. \nStarting at 6 PM\, this program will begin with a 15-20 minute lecture by Professor Hart\, followed by Kozina’s live musical accompaniment to the screening. SUMMARY:Beauty of Bronze for Adults
DESCRIPTION:The kids get to do it\, now the grown-ups can too! \nLast year\, over 700 fifth-graders participated in the annual “Beauty of Bronze” program\, educating students the art of sculpture and offering them the chance to make their own. This year\, the Wenatchee Valley Museum & Cultural Center is thrilled to offer a chance for adults to experience this exciting art program! \nOn Thursday\, March 27\, from 6:30-8:30 PM\, professional sculptors will guide students into creating their own bronze sculpture. This two-hour class will be a relaxing opportunity to create art\, learn a new skill\, and support a child’s education. \nThis class costs $90\, which includes a beverage (beer\, wine\, or soda)\, art materials\, and sponsorship for one 5th-grade student. \nStudents will be able to take their creation home after its done casting in a local foundry. DESCRIPTION:Improve your flexibility\, balance\, strength\, and relaxation using basic yoga postures and breathing techniques while enjoying the charm at the museum \nDianne McCammon will lead this small\, adults-only yoga series. Yoga Basics is slower-paced and focuses on developing a clear and safe alignment of fundamental postures. This series of classes is designed for beginners\, those recovering from injury or anyone wanting to refine their current practice. Come learn\, play\, and maybe even break a sweat in a supportive environment. All bodies are welcome. \nDianne is certified at the 500-hour level with Yoga Alliance and is a Registered Yoga Therapist with International Association of Yoga Therapists. \nPlease bring your mat and water. Space is limited. \n\n\n  \nMarch Classes\nClasses are between March 3-26\, Mondays and Wednesdays\, starting at 10 AM.  \nYou may choose to take the class one or two days per week. \nPrices for March: \n\nOne day a week (only Mondays or only Wednesdays) are $50 for members and $60 for non-members.\nClass on both Monday and Wednesday is $90 for members and $110 for non-members.\nClass for a single drop-in day is $15.\n\nREGISTER HERE \n\nDisclaimer\nPlease bring your mat and water.
