DESCRIPTION:Celebrate the anniversary of the world’s first trans-Pacific flight during First Friday\, October 4th! Every First Friday of the month\, the entire Museum will be free and open from 4-8PM.\n\nKeep your eyes on the sky for “Miss Veedol\,” a replica plane circling around Wenatchee Valley\, between 4:30-5PM!\n\nStarting at 5PM\, a Clyde Pangborn impressionist will recount the historic trans-Pacific flight\, followed by a video of the actual landing in East Wenatchee and the Voortex Productions film “Miss Veedol: The Spirit of Wenatchee.”\n\nThis program will repeat at 6pm. Alcoholic beverages for sale for those 21+.

Later on\, students will have a chance to compete regionally with other young engineers and showcase their coding skills!  \nParticipants must be between 9-11 years old at the time of registration to be eligible for competition. \nStarts September 25th \nEvery Wednesday\, between 3:30-6PM. \nRegistration for the full Robotics Afterschool Program costs $500 for members and $550 for non-members. Yoga Basics is slower-paced and focuses on developing a clear and safe alignment of fundamental postures. This series of classes is designed for beginners\, those recovering from injury or anyone wanting to refine their current practice. Come learn\, play\, and maybe even break a sweat in a supportive environment. DESCRIPTION:Have you ever wanted to learn how to dance like the Irish? Now is your chance!  \nJoin us for classes every 3rd Tuesday of the month for Irish Social Dancing at the Museum. \nThe An Daire Academy of Irish Dance is hosting a series of classes geared towards adults\, although kids are welcome to join as well. Between 6:30-7:30PM at the Performance Hall\, prospective dancers will be tapping to the rhythms of Ireland alongside seasoned dancers. Guests are recommended to wear comfortable clothing and sneakers/walking shoes. \nClasses are $5 for members and $7 for non-members. Registration is recommended and can be found here.

DESCRIPTION:Beat the Heat at the Museum!\n\nThe Wenatchee Valley Museum and Cultural Center and NCW Arts Alliance invites you to this collaborative workshop series featuring regional artists and educators.\n\nTry your hand at a variety of creative mediums this summer\, delving into the art of Japanese calligraphy\, paper crafting\, and painting. These courses are for ages 16+ and are great for all skill levels – beginners welcome!\n\nOn Saturday\, August 31\, 1-3 PM\, learn to paint with stencils with local artist Lindsay Breidenthal. This beginner-friendly technique can add depth and complexity to paintings. Students will leave class with small\, practical art pieces to take home or gift\, including bookmarks and postcards featuring their original art.\n\nBreidenthal is a Wenatchee-based artist who paints primarily with oil and acrylic paints\, layering patterns on top of each other to create dream-like scenes. She is known for painting for local businesses\, including the wall mural in our Coyote’s Corner.\n\n\n\nThis workshop costs $45 for members and $55 for non-members.
