DESCRIPTION:Are you interested in reducing your single-use plastic consumption? Join us on Saturday\, September 4 for a Family MakerSpace class and create your own Beeswax Wraps. Beeswax wraps are pieces of fabric that have been coated in pure beeswax to create a reusable\, non-toxic\, and biodegradable alternative to plastic bags and plastic wrap. \nIn this class you will learn how to make your own beeswax wraps and make repairs to some wraps you may already have at home. The fee covers all materials to make one small\, medium and large wrap\, as well as hands-on instruction. This family-friendly class will be held in the Museum’s MakerSpace at 10:30 AM on Saturday\, September 4. Or\, is this all a ruse to gain the trust of those he seeks to destroy?   \nAlas\, you have been invited to the party and wouldn’t miss it for the world. This is where your story begins.  \nDuring the evening\, partygoers will have the opportunity to eat\, drink and mingle all the while solving the mystery. The two films that will guide our conversation are\, “The Important Places” by Gnarly Bay and “Unfenced” by Patagonia. Where have you been the closest to nature and noticed how infinitely small we are compared to the great outdoors? What actions can we take to preserve lands that remain undisturbed in our region?  \nAbout “The Important Places:\nIn this heart-warming short film acclaimed photographer Forest Woodward and Brendan Leonard chronicle a father-son journey down the Colorado River. The trip simultaneously illuminates the beauty and fragility of the canyon and of life as Forest grapples with the reality of his rapidly aging father and struggles to find his own path. \nAbout “Unfenced”\nThe Red Desert in southwest Wyoming is the largest unfenced area in the continental United States. While plastic or paper sugar skulls can be easily made at home or bought at the store\, the original sugar skulls were made of sugar. In this workshop you will learn about how to make and decorate your own sugar skull. You’ll make your own gears and use them in a moving automaton.   \nPreregistration is not required\, but encouraged as there are a limited number of spots which will be filled first-come\, first-served.  \nClasses will be offered at the following times: \n10:30-11:30  \n11:30-12:30  \n1:30-2:30  \n2:30-3:30  \nCost is $5/person \nREGISTER HERE \nAll in-person events follow current state and local health and safety guidelines. Their mission is to encourage through singing\, to inspire listeners with positive messages\, and to benefit communities by helping raise money for charitable cause.
