SUMMARY:Sewapalooza: Spring Break Classes
DESCRIPTION:Spring Break Classes: April 3rd – 6th\nCombining sewing with electronics\, students in these two classes will be using sewing machines\, conductive thread and hand sewing techniques to create wearable gadgets that light up\, play sounds and move. Make an electronic circuit with interesting light effects using sewable LED lights and a programmable board. Then keep sewing your circuit skills and techniques to choose from many soft circuit projects\, from light-up superhero capes and stuffed animals to purring animal pillows and plushie game controllers. \nTwo separate classes are offered; one for grades 3-5 and another for grades 5-7. Class sizes have been kept small to ensure the highest quality of instruction. The older class will pursue more advanced sewing techniques than the younger class. Karen Rutherford and Lara Hays are teaching the classes. \nTuesday to Friday\, 9am to noon\nGrades 3-5\nGrades 5-7 \n\nTuesday to Friday\, 12:30 – 3:30pm\nGrades 5-7 (Coursework will be a repeat of the morning) \nYou can register your kids online or contact the museum at 509-888-6240 for more information.

SUMMARY:Environmental Film & Lecture Series: United by Water
DESCRIPTION:United by Water shows the first tribal canoe journey and gathering at Kettle Falls since the Ceremony of Tears in 1943. The film\, narrated by Sherman Alexie\, documents this inspiring journey in 2016 from the building of the canoes\, the physical and spiritual journey and the landing at Kettle Falls by the tribal canoe families. This moving film highlights the need to recognize the importance of salmon runs in the Columbia River and our shared journey to reconnect to the Columbia River and restore those salmon runs.

SUMMARY:Environmental Film & Lecture Series: Leave it to Beavers
DESCRIPTION:Beavers are one of nature’s most industrious critters and their hydro-engineering activities transform the landscape. Nearly trapped to extinction for their fur and hunted as pests\, a growing number of scientists and resource managers are looking to beavers to reverse water shortages and restore fish and wildlife habitat. Trout Unlimited is excited to host an evening dedicated to beaver history\, ecology and ecosystem services\, including the film\, Leave it to Beavers\, a guest presentation\, and more. \n\n\n \n\n\nNEW THIS YEAR: Thanks to generous support from the Wenatchee Valley Medical Group\, we will have Makerspace activities at every Environment Film & Lecture Series this year. Fun for the whole family!

SUMMARY:Suburban Vermin Concert
DESCRIPTION:The museum is proud to host a free family-oriented performance of the indie punk rock band Suburban Vermin at 7 p.m. Friday\, April 20 in the apple industry exhibit located in the museum’s Annex building. This event is a kickoff to Saturday’s WEN CON pop culture convention at the Town Toyota Center. \nCompared to the likes of the Ramones\, The Clash and the Buzzcocks; Suburban Vermin are known for their raw punk music sound. This year marks the 11th year for the group to collaborate as a band. Last year\, the group produced the album and accompanying comic book series “TV Head Nation.” The dystopian storyline told in the music and written narrative is chock full of science fiction\, horror and timely political observations. \nThe concert includes trivia and dance contests\, awards for costumes and a chance to create LEGO jewelry.
