DESCRIPTION:Join us for a presentation of “Living with Wildfire”\, a part of the Environmental Film & Speaker Series\, on Thurday\, September 2 at 7 PM. This event will be presented in a hybrid environment with limited in-person viewing in the Museum’s Community Space and a live webinar streaming option. \n“Living with Wildfire” is a North Forty Production\, hosted by Dr. Paul Hessburg and funded by the Washington State Department of Commerce. As unprecedented megafires\, fires over 100\,000 acres in size\, burn across the West\, “Living With Wildfire” is a “master class” from renowned fire ecologist\, Dr. Paul Hessburg and the storytellers at North Forty Productions\, outlining the actions needed to reduce the risk of severe and devastating wildfires impacting your community. \nLimited in-person capacity. \nREGISTER HERE \nAll in-person activities follow current state and local health and safety guidelines. SUMMARY:Family MakerSpace: Beeswax Wraps
DESCRIPTION:Are you interested in reducing your single-use plastic consumption? Join us on Saturday\, September 4 for a Family MakerSpace class and create your own Beeswax Wraps. Beeswax wraps are pieces of fabric that have been coated in pure beeswax to create a reusable\, non-toxic\, and biodegradable alternative to plastic bags and plastic wrap. \nIn this class you will learn how to make your own beeswax wraps and make repairs to some wraps you may already have at home. The fee covers all materials to make one small\, medium and large wrap\, as well as hands-on instruction. This family-friendly class will be held in the Museum’s MakerSpace at 10:30 AM on Saturday\, September 4. The cost is $12/person for members and $20/person for non-members. \nREGISTER HERE \nAll in-person events follow current state and local health and safety guidelines. CLICK HERE TO REGISTER FOR OCTOBER 8.\nJoin us for Murder on Baker Street\, a Wells House Murder Mystery Party\, on Friday\, Septmber 24 at 6 PM. \nSherlock and Watson are hosting a dinner party with an intriguing group of guests at their flat on Baker Street.   \nLondoners were shocked recently when the infamous Lord Blackstone assisted Scotland Yard with the capture of the depraved serial killer\, Victor von Vacher.  Has Lord Blackstone turned a new leaf and abandoned his cult of followers? Or\, is this all a ruse to gain the trust of those he seeks to destroy?   \nAlas\, you have been invited to the party and wouldn’t miss it for the world. This is where your story begins.  \nDuring the evening\, partygoers will have the opportunity to eat\, drink and mingle all the while solving the mystery. Dinner from Garlini’s included in ticket price; optional alcoholic beverages available for fee.   \nTickets are $45 for Museum members or $55 for non-members. \nAfter registering you will have the option to choose your character\, characters will be given out on a first-come-first-serve basis. DESCRIPTION:Join us at the Museum on Tuesday\, September 28 at 6 PM to learn how to make your own paper using recycled items and nature! You can use spices for color\, lavender for the smell\, dried leaves\, and vines for added texture. Use your handmade paper in a journal or create your own gift card. Join us for a beginner’s experience on homemade paper. The Museum will provide all the materials and instructions to create a few different types of paper.  Ticket price includes 1 glass of wine; must be 21 or older.
