SUMMARY:MakerSpace: Kintsugi
DESCRIPTION:Join us in learning the historical and meditative art form of Kintsugi on Saturday\, January 22 at 10:30 AM. Kintsugi\, or golden joinery\, is the Japanese art of repairing broken ceramic or porcelain dishes with gold to highlight their imperfections. This Japanese art form dates back to the 15th century and is deeply rooted in wabi-sabi\, an appreciation of imperfections. You will learn the Kintsugi way of fixing ceramic or porcelain items using epoxy and gold mica powder. Ceramic and porcelain items will be provided\, but you are also welcome to bring your own item(s) to repair. Each registrant will be provided with enough materials for repairing up to two items. Please be aware that we are using epoxy which is toxic if ingested. The dishes repaired in this program are not meant to be used for food or drink\, they are purely decorative. Cost of registration is  $15 for museum members and $20 for non-members. \nPlease register to reserve your spot. \nREGISTER HERE
