SUMMARY:Environmental Film & Speaker Series: Finding Gulo
DESCRIPTION:Join us on Thursday\, November 3 at 7 PM  as we partner with the National Parks Conservation Association for our Environmental Film and Speaker Series viewing “Finding Gulo”. This film follows a backcountry ski guide & field biologist who set out to document an elusive population of wolverines. This short film celebrates the power of community science to protect endangered wildlife in the face of climate change. \nOur 21st annual Environmental Film & Speaker Series explores topics important to our community by connecting us to the world around us\, raising awareness of issues impacting the environment upon which we all depend\, and identifying actions our community can take to impove and sustain our Valley. These family-friendly films are offered by donation to the Museum. There are two viewing options\, please register below to attend in-person or to participate vitrually through the livestream. For the in-person participants there will be a no-host bar\, free popcorn\, and treats. \nREGISTER HERE to attend in-person \n\nREGISTER HERE for the livestream \n\nThank you to our series sponsors the Rotary clubs of Chelan\, Cashmere\, East Wenatchee\, Wenatchee\, Wenatchee Confluence\, and Wenatchee Sunrise for helping make this series possible. \n \nPlease consider supporting the Wenatchee Valley Museum by joining us as a member and donor. SUMMARY:Silent Film and Pipe Organ Concert featuring Dave Wickerham
DESCRIPTION:Dave Wickerham returns to the Wenatchee Valley Museum to play a concert on our 1919 Wurlitzer Pipe Organ.  Hear the organ like it was meant to be played\, as the background of a fully restored silent film.  This is a rare opportunity that not many people have experienced. \nDave\, a world-renowned organist\, will also play a concert of blockbuster movie themes.  The Star Wars theme\, Indiana Jones\, and many others like you have never heard before. \nPlease register here. \nMember tickets are $7 per person or $15 for a family (up to 2 adults and all children under 18 living in the same household).  Non-member tickets are $10 per person or $20 for a family (up to 2 adults and all children under 18 living in the same household). \nOur beautiful\, fully operational 1919 Wurlitzer pipe organ from the Liberty Theater was restored and installed in the Museum’s performance center in 1989. Curtains behind the organ open to view the full installation\, featuring pipes and a variety of operational musical instruments used to add sound effects to organ accompaniments. \nDave Wickerham\, a California native\, has had a career that has spanned the country.   From training in Arizona to decades of work in Chicago\, Wisconsin\, Las Vegas\, Florida\, and Michigan\, his concerts have taken him on tours to Australia and New Zealand and won him the “Organist of the Year” award by the American Theatre Organ Society.
