Environmental Film: “Treaty Talks”

January 19, 2016 @ 11:00 AM - 12:30 PM
free

“Treaty Talks: A Journey Up the Columbia River for People and Salmon” is a short film chronicling a three-month expedition up the 1,243 miles of the Columbia River from the sea to its source. Five canoes, carved and paddled by native and non-native youth, symbolically represented Columbia River salmon – and the journey honored those salmon that can no longer reach their ancestral spawning grounds above Grand Coulee Dam. The documentary highlights the positive efforts of Columbia River citizens working to restore historic salmon runs. An expert will speak following the screening. The program is free but donations of $5 are suggested. Cosponsor: Trout Unlimited.
