Made in Wenatchee – Cider Tasting Event with Union Hill Cider Co.

April 14, 2021 @ 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM

$30 – $35

Join us online for Made in Wenatchee: Cider Tasting Event with Union Hill Cider Co. on April 14th at 7 PM. Taste a variety of hard cider from Union Hill Cider Co. in East Wenatchee.

Union Hill is a collection of orchardists, cider fanatics, friends, and family, combining their skills and love of apples to make the best cider and are focused on bringing out the unique characteristics of traditional cider apples to shine in each of their products.

Drew Handley, Union Hill Co-owner and Cidermaker, and Katja Handley, Union Hill Co-owner, will walk us through this tasting.  The apple industry in the valley already has such a rich history and their family farms have been here for over 50 years.  Learn about the boom in the cider industry and their transition into it as well as the ins and outs of cider in general.

The ciders for this tasting include their new Cosmic Rosé.  A union of Cosmic and Red Fleshed apples grown in Quincy and East Wenatchee on their estate orchards. Intense flavors matured in the harsh arid climate of central Washington. Flavorful and rosé in color. All colors and flavors are derived only from the apples. No additives just apples. A true rosé in the desert.

Barrel Aged – A union of Cripps Pink, Porter’s Perfection and Snowdrift Crab apples aged for at least 8 months in red wine barrels.

Hard Harvest Cider – A union of Cripps Pink, Dabinett, Porters Perfection, Kingston Black and Snowdrift Crab apples. This traditional cider made with their favorite heritage apple varieties gives the perfect tannin forward, medium-bodied cider to please both the new and experienced cider drinker. Complex notes of kiwi and tree-ripe fruit with a satisfying full finish.

Your tasting kit will include a 500 ML bottles of each of these unique hard ciders.

The cost of this event is $30 for members and $35 for non-members.  You must be 21 to participate.
