Join us in the MakerSpace during the month of April for Science on Saturdays. Saturday, April 30 is an Automaton Workshop. Have you ever wondered what makes a Jack in the Box jump out of its box? Or how a player piano can play such beautiful music? Come explore automata and see how people have built self-moving machines for hundreds of years! In this MakerSpace class, you’ll learn the science of automata and how the gears help these machines move! You’ll make your own gears and use them in a moving automaton.
This class is recommended for kids 10 and up. Each child needs to have an adult present. Preregistration is not required, but encouraged as there are a limited number of spots which will be filled first-come, first-served while supplies last.
Cost is $5 for members and $8 for nonmembers
This class will be offered at 10:30 AM and 11:30 AM
