The museum is proud to host a free family-oriented performance of the indie punk rock band Suburban Vermin at 7 p.m. Friday, April 20 in the apple industry exhibit located in the museum’s Annex building. This event is a kickoff to Saturday’s WEN CON pop culture convention at the Town Toyota Center.
Compared to the likes of the Ramones, The Clash and the Buzzcocks; Suburban Vermin are known for their raw punk music sound. This year marks the 11th year for the group to collaborate as a band. Last year, the group produced the album and accompanying comic book series “TV Head Nation.” The dystopian storyline told in the music and written narrative is chock full of science fiction, horror and timely political observations.
The concert includes trivia and dance contests, awards for costumes and a chance to create LEGO jewelry.
