Super Summer Adventure Camps: Session 3

July 6 @ 9:00 AM - July 10 @ 3:30 PM

The health and wellness of our campers, visitors, members, staff, and community are our top priority. Due to COVID-19, we have made the difficult decision to cancel summer camps scheduled to be held in the month of June. Refunds are being provided for anyone who registered for a June summer camp.

We will continue to open registration for July and August summer camps to students entering the 2nd – 6th grades in the Fall of 2020. While we currently plan to hold camps during July and August, wwill be following the guidelines for events and public health from local, state, and federal officials, including social distancing, sanitization, and capacity. We are continually evaluating upcoming events scheduled for July and August in light of those guidelines. Our team will give advance notice of any future cancellations.

We share in your disappointment in the cancellation of June’s camps, but we are hopeful that we’ll be able to welcome your campers back to the Museum in July and August for those students entering the 2nd – 6th grade. We hope you are staying healthy and safe, and if you’d like to enjoy history, art and science activities while at home, visit us at our YouTube channel

Summer Camps at the Museum
Join us for a week of Rockets & Robots at our Super Summer Adventure Camps. We offer weekly enrichment classes for kids with a wide variety of morning, afternoon, and all day classes for students entering K-6 grades in the Fall of 2020 and PreK children ages 3-5 (must be potty trained).

Morning (9 AM – 12 PM)

Grades 2-3: Robot Challenge

Through these engaging and fast-paced activities, students learn important concepts about the engineering process, the main parts of a robot, how those parts change with the problem the robot is intended to solve, and basic robotics programming.

Grades 4-6: Backyard Ballistics

If you want to throw it, fling it, shoot it, fly it or drive it, then this is the class for you. Join us in making various kinds of tools to do just that… catapults, airplanes, etc. We will compete against each other for longest distance, fastest times, accuracy, or following a pre-set course.

Afternoon (12:30 – 3:30 PM)

Grades 2-3: To Infinity and Beyond!

Come take a closer look at Jupiter, Mars, and Mercury and find out what they’re made of and how they compare to Earth. Blast off with us as we experiment with gravity and build amazing flying machines and rockets.

Grades 4-6: Robots Save the Day

Engineering is the application of math and science to solve problems! During this one-week mission, explore ways to apply your problem-solving skills to various hands-on challenges related to science and space exploration.  Acquire knowledge about robots with fellow crew members and engage in hands-on activities to help distinguish between robots and non-robots.
