As part of Wenatchee First Fridays, the Wenatchee Valley Museum and Cultural Center will host a free reception for the opening of its new exhibit “Take a Hike” on Friday, Aug. 7, from 5 to 8 p.m. Refreshments will be served. The exhibit, upstairs in the Blue Gallery, uses photographs, paintings and sporting gear to highlight hiking in our area and to promote the programs of exhibit partners Chelan-Douglas Land Trust and Washington Trails Association. Works by local artists and photographers Jan Cook Mack, Josh Tarr, Kasey Koski, Brian Mitchell and Reed Carlson are on display, along with a map of the foothills and informational pamphlets.
