Ed Ferguson: Lawman, fire fighter … actor

Ed Ferguson came to Wenatchee in 1894 – when he was 15. He rode into town during the worst floods the Wenatchee Valley has even seen. The railroad tracks were awash under two feet of muddy water.

His father was appointed town marshall and Ed took to the idea of being an agent of the law himself. He made his first arrest when he was just 17 – by rounding up seven drunken rioters and hauling them before a judge. Since that first experience of being a lawman Ed moved on to became Wenatchee Police Chief, Chelan County Sheriff and Wenatchee Fire Chief.

But he was also an actor. But for that part of the story come to People of Our Past at the Museum on Feb. 5 beginning at 10 a.m.
