As part of Wenatchee First Fridays, the Wenatchee Valley Museum and Cultural Center will host a free reception for the opening of its new exhibit “Take a Hike” on Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. Refreshments will be served.

The exhibit uses photographs, paintings and sporting gear to highlight hiking in our area and to promote the programs of exhibit partners Chelan-Douglas Land Trust and Washington Trails Association. Works by local artists and photographers Jan Cook Mack, Josh Tarr, Kasey Koski, Brian Mitchell and Reed Carlson are on display, along with a map of the foothills and informational pamphlets.

The museum is located at 127 South Mission Street in Wenatchee. It opens at 10 a.m. and admission is waived all day on the first Friday of every month. For more information contact exhibits coordinator Bill Rietveldt at 888-6247.
