Virtual Tour: 1920s Apple Sorter

Join our virtual host Matthew for the Wenatchee Valley Museum Virtual Tour: 1920s Apple Sorter, a fun tour in our Apple Industry Exhibit. Matthew is joined by our Education & Volunteer Specialist Debbie Sawyer. Debbie discusses the history of our local apple industry while demonstrating our working 1920s Apple Sorter featuring an apple catapult!

Watch to see if you can guess which apples will launch the farthest!

You can learn how to make your own DIY Catapult with this Wenatchee Valley Museum Online Activity and discover more about the packing process used today by visiting https://bestapples.com/washington-orchards/packing-process/.

Want to learn more about how Wenatchee became the “Apple Capital of the World”? A virtual tour of our Washington Apple Industry Exhibit will be coming to your screen soon, so stay tuned for more from our virtual community!

The Museum relies on members for support. If you enjoy our Virtual Tours and Online Activities please consider joining us as a member. For a low annual rate you’ll support our local Museum, get year-round access and discounted rates to fun events, exhibits, and programs.
