The 2024-25 Film and Speaker Series presents: The West is Burning

The Wenatchee Valley Museum and Cultural Center is partnering alongside the U.S. Forest Service to host a screening of The West is Burning on Thursday, Sep. 12, 7-9 PM.

The West is Burning raises awareness about the conditions of forests in the western U.S. Told through a full-feature documentary, we examine the history of forest management and litigation that led to the current conditions causing catastrophic fires year-round.

Funds from this event support the Museum’s mission-serving programs, including featured exhibits, MakerSpace, robotics clubs, field trips, student scholarships, community cultural events, film and speaker series, and collection restorations.

Watch the full trailer for this film here.

Admission is free for members and $5 for non-members. Registration is recommended and can be found here.

The 2024-25 Film and Speaker Series is sponsored by Gesa Credit Union. This screening of The West is Burning is sponsored by the U.S. Forest Service. Thank you to the following organizations for also supporting this screening:

Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest, Department of Natural Resources, Wenatchee CAFE, Cascadia Conservation District, Wenatchee Valley Fire, Washington Fire Adapted Communities Learning Network, and Chelan-Douglas Health Department.
